This Privacy Policy explains how the Qadha & Kaffarah mobile app ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information. By creating an account and using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

Qadha & Kaffarah is a personal-productivity app that helps Muslims track and make up (qadha) missed prayers and fasts, and track kaffarah (expiation) obligations. The App is operated by JA Studio, an independent developer.

2. Information we collect

We only collect the information needed to provide the App's features. Specifically:

a) Account information

• Email address (used to create and sign in to your account).

b) Profile and onboarding information you provide

• Gender
• Date of birth and/or age of puberty (used to calculate the number of prayers/fasts owed)
• Your tracking preferences (e.g. whether you track fasts)

c) Religious-practice and tracking data you enter

• Number of missed and completed prayers and fasts
• Prayer and fast completion history
• Kaffarah progress and streaks
• Achievements/milestones
• Exemption periods, including a reason you select (for example: illness, travel, or menstruation). Some of this information may be considered sensitive. You choose whether to enter it, and it is used only to calculate what you owe.

d) Information stored only on your device

• Certain preferences and progress may be cached locally on your device using standard app storage so the App works smoothly.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or payment information. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

3. How we use your information

We use your information solely to:

• Create and secure your account and sign you in;
• Calculate and display the prayers, fasts, and kaffarah you owe and have completed;
• Save your progress so it is available when you return or sign in on another device;
• Provide gamification features such as streaks, levels, and achievements;
• Respond to support requests you send us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing.

4. How your information is stored and protected

• Your account and tracking data are stored using Supabase, a third-party cloud database and authentication provider, acting as our data processor.
• All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
• Row-Level Security is enforced on the database so that each user can only access their own data.
• Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Service providers

We share data only with infrastructure providers strictly necessary to run the App:

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

6. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your associated data is deleted as described below.

7. Your rights and choices

You can:

• Access and edit your profile and tracking data at any time within the App.
• Delete your account directly in the App (Settings → Delete Account). This permanently removes your account and associated personal data from our active systems.
• Contact us at jastudio.app@gmail.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California). We honour applicable requests.

8. Children's privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to such transfer, processing, and storage in accordance with this policy.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
